Board of Directors and Executive Officers
NEIL
F. GORDON, MD, PHD, MPH
Neil
F. Gordon is the
founder, Chairman, Chief Executive
Officer, and President of INTERxVENTUSA.
He also currently serves as the
Medical Director of the Center for
Heart Disease Prevention at St.
Joseph’s/Candler Health System in
Savannah, Georgia and has a faculty
appointment in the Emory University
School of Medicine (Atlanta,
Georgia) as Clinical Professor of
Medicine.
Dr. Gordon obtained his M.D.
and a Ph.D. in exercise physiology in
Johannesburg, South Africa.
He subsequently relocated to
the United States in 1987 and obtained
a Master’s Degree in Public Health
from UCLA.
He is
is
a Fellow of the American College of
Cardiology and Board Certified in
Preventive Medicine.
Dr.
Gordon served as Director of Exercise
Physiology at the Cooper Research
Institute in Dallas, Texas for six and
a half years.
He was subsequently in private
practice in Dallas, Texas before
moving to Savannah in 1995.
He is a former Vice-President
of the American Association for
Cardiovascular and Pulmonary
Rehabilitation and member of the Board
of Trustees of the American College of
Sports Medicine. Dr.
Gordon is a past chairman of the
American Heart Association's Committee
on Exercise, Cardiac Rehabilitation
and Prevention.
He has authored over 100
published scientific manuscripts and
eight books in the area of preventive
medicine.
Dr. Gordon has devoted his
career, spanning over 20 years, to the
prevention of cardiovascular disease
and other chronic illnesses.
His M.D., Ph.D., and M.P.H.
degrees make him uniquely qualified to
lead the Company into the new
millennium and beyond.
The recognition by his peers in
the field of chronic disease
prevention is evidenced by the many
honors, research grants, and awards he
has received.
