INTERxVENTUSA Offers On-site Programs for Select Savannah Business Group Companies

Studies show that morale and productivity are raised when employees are able to participate in on-site health promotion programs.  INTERxVENT @ Work shows management how they can demonstrate to their employees that they care about their health and well-being.  By providing their employees with on-site health promotion programs, they are creating a work environment that supports healthy lifestyles, encouraging higher productivity, and reducing the cost of health care.

At present, on-site programs are provided at these worksites:

Carson Products

Georgia Port

Colonial Oil

Fuji Oil

At present the MENTOR visiting the on-site  programs is Julie Blakely

Julie Blakely has a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Nutrition from the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. She has worked in the field of nutrition for 15 years.  Prior to joining INTERXVENT, Julie worked with medical groups in Southern California providing classes and individual counseling on hypertension, cholesterol, diabetes and weight management for adults and children.

Julie moved to Georgia in 1997.  In 1998 she joined the INTERxVENTUSA team.  Her passion is her family.  She adores her two boys.  Despite her busy working life, she can always be counted on to be at every soccer match providing support for her two boys.

The INTERxVENT Mentor

INTERxVENT is not a “quick fix” solution, but a partnership between YOU and our team of health professionals to achieve YOUR health and lifestyle goals

A key to INTERxVENT’s success is the health professional, or “Mentor,”.who supports and guides the participant through the program.  Unlike other wellness programs that have programming efforts targeted toward groups of people, INTERxVENT utilizes an individualized approach.  The INTERxVENT mentors tailor the lifestyle management and cardiovascular risk reduction programs to the specific needs of each participant.

The mentor:

·        Provides a credible, healthy role model

·        Coaches, listens, negotiates, motivates

·        Facilitates behavior change

·        Teaches self-care skills

·        Protects confidentiality and privacy

Mentors are selected from several health care professions, including nurses, exercise physiologists, dietitians, and health educators.  They are comfortable dealing with a vast array of health issues and topics, from writing a behavioral contract to helping someone give up cigarettes to helping someone train for their first marathon.  Using their clinical and technical skills, the mentor provides information and advice that is trusted.
